About Lambda Chi Alpha

Lambda Chi Alpha was founded in 1909 at Boston University, by Warren A. Cole. With a passion to bring an association of students with good morals and character in the various institutions within the United States and Canada, Cole fostered a spiritual standard of life based on Christian teachings. These teachings promote friendship, cultivate intellectual intelligence, establish brotherly love.

Today Lambda Chi Alpha is one of the largest fraternities in North America with over 275,000 initiated members, and nearly 200 active chapters. It was the first fraternity to eliminate hazing in the 70’s. lambda remains a leader in the fight against hazing, alcohol abuse, drugs, and other challenges college students face.

Lambda Chi Alpha at Texas Tech was established in 1976. However, in 2001 the active and alumni members decided to become inactive with intent to return in the future. The chapter was reestablished in 2012 and hasn’t looked back since. The chapter is growing considerably (almost tripled in size since 2020!) and can use help to maintain and establish a good future for the members and future members.
